.me.to.me. to you

a mutual aid show, live via Zoom
April 4, 2025 @ 7:00pm ET

Please join me on Friday, April 4 at 7:00pm ET for a virtual concert, a mutual aid show & listening party, live from my home via Zoom. I’ll perform an hour of original music, eleven songs sequenced under the title .me.to.me. Proceeds from the gathering go toward supporting three of my beloved friends who are facing financial crises. Elena, Aurora, & Jay have each uplifted & enlivened me through the pronounced period of personal loss, change, & regeneration that has seeded this music’s composition. We are raising funds to cover emergency housing expenses, car repairs, gender-affirming healthcare, dental procedures, & veterinary bills.

To attend the show, please donate $17 dollars or more to one of the fundraising campaigns linked below & send confirmation of your donation to unsung.studio.applications@gmail.com. Alternately, you can send money to me directly via CashApp, Venmo, or PayPal & I will distribute the funds between the campaigns—fill out the form below & the Zoom link will be sent to you the week before the show.

If 30 people contribute, we’ll raise over $500—an impressive sum, & only a fraction of the total Aurora, Jay, & Elena need. Please share this call among your queer & radically-minded communities. Thank you for your support.

About my friends in need

  • Jay is a beloved friend, artist, and caregiver. His nurturing attention is essential to his three kids, his siblings, mother, partners, and everyone lucky enough to meet them. Jay is requesting help raising funds to continue hormone replacement therapy and to strategize toward his long-term transition goals, including needed surgical procedures.

  • Elena is a creative and spiritual worker, an artist and independent therapist caring for her communities beyond institutional hierarchies. Elena has been doing challenging, ongoing care for her three elderly dogs. Between emergency surgeries, lost wages due to vet visits, and caretaking, Elena is looking at bills above and beyond the day-to-day of household upkeep.

  • Aurora is an artist, organizer, printmaker, and founder of Cosmic Dog House Press. Aurora devotedly offers free and discounted printing services to independent artists and organizations guided by intersectional liberation movements. After a tireless search for housing, Aurora finally found a place to live, however they are still bearing the financial burden of moving expenses, security deposits, longer commutes, & now unexpected car repairs.

About .me.to.me.

  • .me.to.me. is queer suburban defector rock. I composed .me.to.me. on acoustic guitar, piano, and with my voice between 2021-2024. At their most anxious, these songs articulate mortifying self-address; at their most curious, they celebrate transformation & connectedness. .me.to.me. is a queer love story—it’s a story of [be]longing. Call it a coming out party if you want—I’m dreaming toward coming together. At .me.to.me. to you, I’ll perform all eleven songs solo, with minimal banter, pausing briefly to tune & move between instruments. Yes, I will be pretty.

About mutual aid

  • I’d like to articulate more specifically how I’m conceiving of this gathering’s political aims & impact. I call this a “mutual aid show” to draw attention to the multidirectional flow of support between all participants. So far, I’ve centered my friends’ financial needs—now, I’d like to hold with equal regard my needs as a performer & yours as witnesses.

For me, this gathering satisfies a need to be heard conveying my story—a story that helped string my life together in the throes & aftermath of compound relational ruptures. I need to be met tenderly as I share artifacts born of digesting trauma, grief, & magical love through this period of rapid change at every scale. I also need my friends to be well.

As for you, beyond experiencing warm feelings of charity & receiving entertainment, I invite you to consider how attending this gathering may nourish your spirit. Maybe immersing in a mellow soundscape supports you in your need to rest your body-mind; maybe you or someone you know needs a point of connection as they embrace their own queer identity; maybe you feel uncertain about what you’d like to receive here—maybe a need is tended simply by holding space for wonder together.

My intention & prayer is that by gathering our attention, we will further attune to our innate interdependency & redistribute resources in harmony with community needs.

I’m excited to offer my voice to a wider circle & eager to use my skills to bring my beloveds ease.

[y]ours in gratitude,
robin
